Printing of PVC Sheets
Printing of PVC sheets is done in single-sided and double-sided formats with thicknesses of 360 microns, 500 microns, and 760 microns, available in both matte and glossy finishes.
Applications of these PVC Sheets:
- Identification cards
- Business cards
- Information cards (magnetic), such as bank cards
- Coaster surfaces
- Mouse pad surfaces
- Clothing tags
PVC cards come in white, metallic gold, and transparent options.
Printing of PVC sheets can be done on one or both sides with printing colors CMYK plus gold and silver. They can also be embossed with gold or silver foiling.
The New World Design, Printing, and Advertising Collection is capable of producing PVC cards with magnetic stripes (Hico) and personalization (customization).
Smart PVC Cards are categorized into two types:
- A) Contact Smart PVC Card (Magnetic Card)
A magnetic smart card has a main component: a thick black stripe on the back. It is used for bank cards, student cards, identification cards, and access cards. Magnetic cards come in various types, differing primarily in the magnetic stripe.
Magnetic cards are of two types:
- Hico: Black stripe
- Loco: Brown stripe
Hico cards have stronger magnetic properties and are used for long-term projects such as bank cards, while Loco cards have shorter magnetic property retention, suitable for hotel room keys. These cards require a reader device to be read.
- B) Non-Contact Smart PVC Card:
MIFARE and RO (Read-Only) cards fall into this category. These cards do not need to contact the device to be read; when they get close to the device, the chip’s information is read. MIFARE cards have a rectangular antenna and are readable and writable, while RO cards have a circular antenna and are read-only. Metro cards are an example of non-contact cards.
Signature stripe requests are possible at New World.
The New World Design, Printing, and Advertising Collection also offers 3D coverage like holograms on PVC cards.
