Standard Paper and Card Sizes:

Based on international standards, printing machines are categorized according to size, with a sheet’s maximum size being 35×50, and a machine capable of accepting this size is referred to as a “one-sheet” machine.

Other sizes are defined as follows: Common sizes in Iran include 51×70, 60×90, 100×70, and 120×80 (self-adhesive), with smaller sizes derived from the larger sizes.

Cutting various paper and cardboard follows a very simple standard, taking into account minimal waste.

Various book sizes around the world are created based on the dimensions of available paper sizes, optimizing paper usage and minimizing waste.

Some foreign books have sizes other than those mentioned here, and considering them with Iranian paper sizes would result in significant waste.

It seems that outside Iran, many publishers collaborate with paper manufacturers to order custom paper sizes, but in Iran, creating non-standard sizes would lead to considerable paper waste and be costly.

As a result, due to the presence of two paper sheet sizes (70×100 and 60×90) in Iran and considering paper consumption as one of the most expensive aspects of a printing project, standard sizes have been extracted that minimize paper waste when adhering to these dimensions.

The sizes described below are based on this. However, some dimensions may differ by a few millimeters from what is mentioned here, which is inevitable.

Understanding the Combination of Colors in CMYK
